Obama Llama Ding Dong

Had some sort of drawing competition with some friends. I can't remember the specifics but this was what I came up with... I just love how the title rolls off the tongue...

When the 2008 elections were coming around, I initially was behind Hillary... I was so disappointed when she didn't receive the nomination. By this time, I was thoroughly fed up with Bush, who I did vote for in his second run. I still didn't like the idiot, but thought maybe he'd get us out of the mess he put us into...

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that the moron would damn near bury us. Thank you Bushy... It was because of you that I vowed not to vote Republican, although I confess, McCain and Palin certainly helped with that decision as well.....

The Beginning

Back in 2000 I was in the process of finishing my Bachelors degree when I took an illustration class. One of my assignments was to illustrate something political. Back then, I really wasn't all that interested in politics. I considered myself to be an Independent and felt that I was doing my job by voting and that it ended there.  I've since learned that voting is merely the beginning. One must keep up with what's going on in government at all times.

For my assignment, I choose to illustrate Al Gore, who was running against George Dubyah.. As I've said, I considered myself to be an Independent but ironically, I did vote for Gore in 2000. Looking back on it now, I really should have based my illustration on Bushy...

Anyway, in today's political climate, there is just so much going on that I simply can't let it all pass. So while I'm working on some new illustrations to put up. I decided to post some of my early work. I want to keep this blog mainly for illustrations, although occasionally, I may post an article or two along the way.  If you have any suggestions, please, let me know. I'm always open to suggestions.
